Having a bit of anxiety getting out of the house with your little one is fairly normal for a FTM. Don't feel that you always have to be out and about just invite your girlfriends and their babies over for a play date. Put on a pot of coffee and serve this easy-as-pie pie. They will wonder where you get all of your extra time from and you’ll come off as a mellow FTM even if you’re not and don’t worry your secret is safe with me.
1 ready made pie crust
1 lb. of fresh strawberries
3 tbsp. corn starch
2 tbsp. corn syrup
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
1 pkg. of strawberry
Jell-O gelatin
Whipped cream
Jell-O gelatin
Whipped cream
So my little agoraphobic friend, you managed to leave the comfort of your humble abode for the ingredients needed to make this pie. Your upcoming play date is going to be a real success. Hopefully you've sprung for a bottle of champagne, strictly for the moms of course.
When your pie crust is completely thawed bake it for approximately 10-13 minutes at 400 degrees. To prevent the crust from bubbling gently pierce the bottom with a fork before popping it into your preheated oven. While your crust is baking you can prepare the remaining ingredients because minutes are as long as this entire recipe takes.
Now give the strawberries a thorough rinse and then cut them long ways in half and set them aside. In a sauce pan on the stove, combine the corn starch, corn syrup, water, and sugar and bring it to a slow boil for just a few minutes. You will notice that it is quickly turning from a liquid to a gelatin. Don’t panic it is supposed to look that way; it means that you are following these directions perfectly. Now add the Jell-O packet into the gelatin mixture and set it aside to cool. Cooling the gelatin prior to pouring it into the pie is an important step to prevent a million tiny bubbles from forming in your fabulous new pie. Don’t let the gelatin cool for too long or it will become too thick to pour.
Ding! Your crust is finished baking but it needs to cool before you can assemble your masterpiece. Once cooled, start to arrange the strawberries in the pie crust. Once your berries are nicely arranged in the pie, pour the slightly cooled gelatin over the top. Refrigerate your creation until you are ready to serve then top each slice with a squirt of whipped cream.
There you go my little recluse your pie is done. Do yourself a favor though and try to limit your actual pie intake. Yes, I know that you saw that cup of sugar but one sliver won’t kill you. Any more than that and you will be saying hello to your big fat ass in the morning. Hey I’m not trying to be rude. I had to say hello to mine.
